Built through a deliberate process of layering and disruption, this one-of-one artwork explores the tension between control and instinct. Across seven carefully constructed layers, resin, spray paint, and acrylic interact to create a surface that is both expressive and refined.

Gestural forms—suggestive of florals, symbols, and fleeting emotion—emerge and dissolve within a charged, high-contrast field. What appears spontaneous is underpinned by structure; what feels playful carries weight. The composition moves between opacity and translucency, revealing depth, concealment, and moments of clarity depending on light and perspective.

The high-gloss resin finish acts as both barrier and amplifier—intensifying colour, capturing reflection, and allowing the work to shift within its environment. It is not static; it responds.
